19th C. Swedish Cavalry Officers' Style Sword + Scabbard G.E Svalling Molntorp

Description

Antique Swedish Officers' Sword Saber with correct Scabbard. Near excellent scabbard with 90% original bluing, point end marked, "73", top neck area is missing the lip piece on scabbard.  Sword measures 37" overall with a blade length of 32.5".  Very good blade with much original finish remaining with scattered dark age spots patina.  Fullered blade, ricasso area of blade marked, "S.E. SVALLING & CO./ MOLNTORP".  Rayskin wrap is very good showing some scattered areas of loss.  Handle, guard, grip wiggles/looseness.  Top of cross-guard basket stamped, "CATADAK".  THE "T" may be a different letter.  There is also the standard 3 crowns on a shield on the basket.
