Antique Early American Militia Officers Sword W H Horstmann & Sons Philadelphia

Description

Here is an early American militia officer's sword marked W.H. HORSTMANN & SONS PHILADELPHIA. The elliptical shaped  blade is heavily engraved on both sides. Engraving is very crisp. Pommel, grip & cross guard are all slightly loose. The grip is not bone. It looks and feels like a hard ceramic. Brass mounted leather scabbard is missing the tip & probably some leather.
Overall 32" long, blade 25 1/4", scabbard 20 1/4".
