Vintage Horstmann PhilaU.S. Military Model 1840 Short Sword Marines USMC Stamped

Very nice looking U.S. Military Model 1840 USMC Sword by Horstmann.   Very similar to the M1840 Musicians sword, but the regular M1840 has a wider blade and the cross-guard on one side is moved inward. Blade measures 24.5", blade is fullered and fuller ends approx. 1" from the point end. Overall length of sword is 31".  The blade is 7/8" wide and is 1/4" thick from top hilt area then tapers down to the point. Floral etching on the left side of blade with "USMC" stamped.  Ricasso area of blade etched:  "HORSTMANN PHILA". Blade in very good condition with some age patina, spots, smooth blade, with much original finish.  See photos for further details, clarification, and condition.
