Vintage US Model 1852 USN Navy Naval Officers' Sword E.A. Armstrong Chicago ILL.

Description

Post Civil War Model 1852 Naval Officers' Sword measuring 31-1/4" overall with a blade length of 26".  Blade has been shortened, blade shows wear, use, some sharpening, dings on blade edge.  Floral engraved blade with USN on blade, ricasso area of blade marked, "E.A. ARMSTRONG CHICAGO ILL."  The knuckle-bow/counter-guard has looseness along with pommel. Wire wrapped white shark-skin grip with some with some scattered loss.  Counter-guard marked, "USN" with floral leaves engraving.
